ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The 2025 Federal Policy Agenda from the National Wildlife Federation's Great Lakes Regional Center outlines critical steps to protect the Great Lakes from escalating threats while remaining focused on preventing and restoring the region for the people, wildlife, and all who call it home.
"The choices we make now will shape the Great Lakes' future for generations," said Rebecca Meuninck, Great Lakes regional executive director for the National Wildlife Federation. "Our 2025 policy agenda for the Great Lakes lays out bold, science-based solutions to protect our freshwater resources, restore critical habitats, and ensure a healthy, sustainable future for people and wildlife."
The agenda focuses on preventing the spread of invasive species, strengthening drinking water protections, restoring habitats, and addressing the challenges of climate change — all essential components to ensure a resilient and thriving Great Lakes region.
